I’m a teacher, and I believe deeply

in the power of teaching people skills.

So over the past two years, I have built a library of individually identified academic skills and used a range of AI platforms to create targeted learning materials for each one. What began as a tool to support my own students has grown into a collection of more than 10,000 skills across dozens of academic, career, social, and life disciplines. Now, I want this skills library to be available to everyone, so we can better support the children we care about so much—and strengthen our own learning in the process.

At first, the goal was simple: help my students close specific skill gaps. I realized that if I could identify the exact skills they were missing, I could create learning materials designed to address those precise needs. And it worked beautifully.

Over time, the project became deeper, more sophisticated, and far broader than K–12 academics. I added life skills to help students transition into their futures. I gathered career skills I knew they would need. I curated social skills when I saw how much support students needed in that area. Then I began noticing that principals, administrators, educators, and families also needed clearer ways to understand challenges, make decisions, and support growth—so I began building skill maps for them, too.

Today, the library has become something much larger: a skills-visible system that can reveal the explicit skill architecture behind almost any document, situation, work sample, or prompt.

Here’s how it works: you can enter almost any scenario or upload a document, image, or student work sample into our virtual assistant, and it will identify the underlying skills needed to understand, approach, or solve the problem.

Because each identified skill connects directly to our expansive skills library, you can immediately explore that skill in depth, learn it yourself, or assign it to a student. After all, to solve a problem—any problem—we first have to understand and master the skills required to do it.

As you scroll down, you’ll find three things: the topics our skills library covers, the way we teach those topics through Skill Bundles, and our free virtual assistants, which serve as guides to the library and support a wide range of skill-building tasks. These are the same assistants I still use every day in my classroom.

How Are These Skills Taught?

All teachers want a variety of ways to learn. Google and OpenAI have have made immense progress in recent years, namely ChatGPT’s analytical abilities and Notebook LMs audio and visual products. I combined the two platforms to teach each skill. I used a special ‘vibe coded’ algorithm to create custom forms of ChatGPT to harness and focus AI’s power into a format that was pragmatic for most teachers.

The algorithm and GPT made each output reliable and reduced AI drift and hallucinations.
